Our installation process
1. Survey & design
We work out the right radiator sizes and pipe runs for your home so every room heats properly, not just the ones nearest the boiler.
2. Fitting
Pipework, radiators and thermostatic controls installed cleanly, with dust sheets down and minimal disruption to your home.
3. Pressure testing
Every new radiator and pipe run is pressure tested before we consider the job finished — not assumed to be fine because it looks fine.
4. Balancing & handover
We balance the system so heat is distributed evenly, then talk you through your new controls before we leave.
Heating installation questions
How long does a full central heating installation take?
A complete system in an average three bedroom home typically takes three to five days, depending on how much pipework needs running and whether floors have to come up. We'll give you a realistic timescale as part of the written quote.
Can you install heating in a property with no existing system?
Yes. A full first-time installation involves running all new pipework, fitting radiators, installing the boiler and controls, then balancing and commissioning the system. It's more involved than a replacement but entirely routine work for us.
Do all my radiators need replacing?
Not necessarily. If existing radiators are sound and correctly sized for each room, they can often be retained and reused after a proper system flush. Where a room has never heated well, that's usually a sizing problem rather than a faulty radiator, and we'd recommend changing that one specifically.
What difference do heating controls and zoning make?
Zoning lets you heat different parts of the house independently rather than heating everywhere to reach one cold room. Combined with modern programmable controls and thermostatic radiator valves, it usually cuts running costs noticeably and makes the house more comfortable. We'll explain the options at survey stage.
