Boiler replacement

Boiler replacement, done properly

A new boiler fitted right the first time — surveyed, sized correctly for your home, fully tested, and left with the paperwork to prove it. Gas Safe registered, Ideal Max accredited.

Signs it's time

How do you know you need a new boiler?

It's 10+ years old

Older boilers run less efficiently and parts get harder to source.

Frequent breakdowns

If you're calling out an engineer more than once a year, repairs are likely costing more than a replacement would.

Rising gas bills

A tired boiler has to work harder to heat your home, and that shows up on your bill.

What's included

Our boiler replacement process

1. Free survey & quote

We look at your current system, hot water demand, and where the flue and pipework need to run, then give you a fixed, upfront price — no surprises later.

2. Installation

Most straightforward swaps are completed in a day. We work tidily and protect your floors and furniture while we're in your home.

3. Full commissioning & combustion testing

Every boiler is tested with a calibrated flue gas analyzer to confirm it's burning safely and efficiently before we sign it off — not just switched on and left.

4. Certification & paperwork

You get your Gas Safe registration, Benchmark checklist and warranty registration handled — the documents you'll need for insurance or if you sell your home.

FAQ

Boiler replacement questions

How much does a new boiler cost?

It depends on the boiler you need, your existing setup and any extra work such as moving pipework or upgrading the flue. We give a free survey and a fixed, upfront price before starting, so the figure you agree is the figure you pay. Our current promotional price starts at £1,580 including VAT — see our current offer.

How long does a boiler replacement take?

Most like-for-like swaps are done in a single day. Jobs that involve moving the boiler to a new position, converting from a back boiler, or changing system type usually take two to three days. We'll tell you which yours is at the survey rather than on the morning we arrive.

Should I get a combi, system or regular boiler?

A combi suits most two and three bedroom homes and removes the need for tanks and a cylinder. If you have two or more bathrooms in regular simultaneous use, a system boiler with an unvented cylinder will give much better hot water performance. We recommend based on your property and how you actually use it, not on which unit costs more.

Do you take the old boiler away and certify the new one?

Yes. Removal and disposal of the old appliance is included, and every gas installation is commissioned, combustion tested and certified by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We also notify Building Control on your behalf where required.

Is the new boiler covered by a warranty?

Yes — manufacturer warranties apply and the length depends on the make and model fitted. Most manufacturers require the system to be cleaned and a filter fitted at installation for the warranty to remain valid, which is why we include that as standard rather than as an upsell.
